This Privacy Policy explains how Pichalyze ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our desktop application and website.

1. Information We Collect

When you create a Pichalyze account we collect:

• Your username
• Your email address
• Your password (stored as a secure hash — we never see your actual password)
• Account creation date and last login date
• Your subscription plan (Free or Pro) and its expiry date

We do NOT collect any of the data files you open or analyse in the app. Your CSV, Excel, JSON and Parquet files never leave your computer.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only for:

• Creating and managing your account
• Sending you email verification codes
• Managing your subscription status
• Responding to support requests you send us

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling or any other purpose.

3. Data Storage

Your account information is stored securely in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon (neon.tech) in the EU (Frankfurt). Passwords are hashed using PBKDF2-SHA256 with 260,000 iterations — they cannot be reversed even by us.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with any third party, except:

• Gumroad — our payment processor. When you purchase a Pro plan, your payment is processed by Gumroad. They receive your email address to process the transaction. Gumroad's privacy policy applies to payment data.
• Legal requirements — if required by law.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Update your account information

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your data within 7 days.

7. Security

Your password is never stored in plain text. All database connections use SSL encryption. Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2-SHA256 (260,000 rounds) — industry standard security.

8. Children

Pichalyze is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics scripts. No data about your visit is collected.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
